Arson Charges Filed Against Ukrainian National
A Ukrainian national faces multiple arson charges linked to two homes and a vehicle connected to Kiel Starmer. Authorities report that 21-year-old Roman Lovelinovich is charged with three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.
Scotland Yard’s counterterrorism unit has taken over the case following a fire incident in north London. Lovelinovich was apprehended early in the morning on May 13th in Sydenham, located in southeast London.
Bethan David, who leads the counterterrorism division at the Crown Prosecutor’s Office, stated that the charges pertain to two fires at residential properties in Islington on May 11th and in Kentishtown on May 12th, as well as car fires in Kentishtown on May 8th.
Counterterrorism detectives have been investigating these three incidents. Notably, one involved a fire at the residence of the prime minister’s family in northwest London, which firefighters reported to the police early Monday. Fortunately, while there was damage at the property’s entrance, no injuries were reported.
Lovelinovich is set to appear in Westminster Magistrates Court on May 16th.
