Famous WWE and AEW announcer Jim Ross shares his cancer diagnosis

Jim Ross Diagnosed with Colon Cancer

Legendary wrestling announcer Jim Ross, who is also a WWE Hall of Famer, has been diagnosed with colon cancer.

At 73, Ross shared this news with his fans on social media on Thursday. He wrote, “I was diagnosed with colon cancer this week.”

This marks the second cancer diagnosis for Ross, who also lives with Bell’s palsy. In October 2021, he announced that he had developed skin cancer.

Alongside a photo of his bandaged ankle, he mentioned, “We are waiting for a radiologist’s research to decide what to do. Maybe radiation.”

In December of that same year, Ross expressed his optimism about overcoming cancer, stating he would return to AEW’s broadcasts.

He later noted on social media, “We hope to return to the Announcement Desk in Jacksonville on December 29th. We’ve had a total of 22 radiation treatments since Monday. @tonykhan supports me with this strategy that was a blessing. I would like to thank you for all your support.”

Ross, well-known for his role during WWE’s “Attitude Era,” where stars like “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock rose to fame, left WWE in March 2019 after over 20 years. He signed with AEW shortly after.

In a personal tragedy, Ross lost his wife in 2017 due to a severe road accident. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
