During a segment on News Nation’s “Hill,” Rep. Sydney Kamlager Dove (D-CA) discussed California Governor Gavin Newsom’s proposal regarding undocumented immigrants in the state’s Medicaid program.
“The plan involves halting registrations for those who are undocumented within Medicaid. Essentially, moving forward, these individuals might have to pay $100 a month starting in January,” she explained.
Kamlager-Dove emphasized, “I believe everyone should have access to healthcare. If people can’t get care initially, they often end up needing emergency services or hospitalization without insurance, which ultimately costs the state much more. The real challenge is that federal funding is being impacted.”
