Mark Halperin States There Are 3 Questions About Biden’s Health That Journalists Should Stop Asking Democrats

Mark Halperin Discusses Media Questions on Biden

Political analyst Mark Halperin suggested on Friday that journalists should avoid asking three specific questions regarding former President Joe Biden’s apparent cognitive decline. Instead, he emphasized the importance of focusing on a single key inquiry.

Halperin noted that Biden’s decline is observable in his public appearances, or rather, the lack thereof. During a recent segment on Morning meeting, he criticized certain media questions as futile and urged reporters to hold Democrats accountable concerning Biden’s mental state.

“Should we really be asking Democrats about Biden’s eyesight or whether he should run for reelection?” Halperin remarked. “The answer is no, I think he should definitely run for reelection.” He pointed out that one crucial question stands out: “Given Joe Biden’s evident mental decline overall, why didn’t anyone speak up?”

To reinforce his claims, Halperin often references an incident from September 2022, where Biden mentioned late Republican Indiana Rep. Jackie Woloslowski, seemingly unaware she had passed away in a car accident the previous month.

When pressed by Halperin about Biden’s mental state, Colorado Senator Michael Bennett struggled to respond. He hesitated to acknowledge Biden’s cognitive decline and leaned toward suggesting the former president’s issues might be more physical instead.

“He was addressing lawmakers in what was supposed to honor her as if she were present,” Bennett explained. “Even in 2020 and looking ahead to 2024, he was less exposed to media. I don’t think special insight is needed to recognize a decline, would you agree?”

Bennett, however, stopped short of expressing a clear stance on Biden’s mental acuity, stating, “I haven’t conducted any personal evaluations. I acknowledge a decline but question whether he can actively campaign against Trump, either mentally or physically. His decision to run again comes at a significant cost.”
