Senator Cruz Claims He Never Spoke to Biden During His Presidency

Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz stated on Friday that he never had a conversation with former President Joe Biden during Biden’s time in office.

New information has emerged about White House aides being unaware of significant issues, particularly concerning Biden’s health, as reported by Axios. An excerpt from the upcoming book “Original Sin” details these conversations. In a recent episode of “Verification with Ted Cruz,” he remarked that he and many fellow Republican senators had no direct communication with Biden throughout his presidency. Cruz found this quite odd.

“In the four years of President Biden, I’ve been in the Senate the whole time. How many times do you think I spoke to Joe Biden when he was president?” Cruz asked his co-host, Ben Ferguson. “Zero…not once, it’s weird.”

The senator noted that it’s typical for a president to interact with members from both parties in the House and Senate. He recalled frequently speaking with former President Barack Obama during Obama’s two terms.

“And by the way, when I say I didn’t talk to [Biden] for four years, that was true for almost every Republican senator,” Cruz mentioned. While Democrats had a bit more contact with Biden, he emphasized that during their regular lunch sessions, they often discussed how strange it was that they had little interaction with him.

Senator John Kennedy, a Republican from Louisiana, relayed that when he visited the White House, Biden began reminiscing about stories from decades past. White House staff reportedly grew anxious and tried to usher Biden out, but he continued speaking for about half an hour.

President Biden has conducted fewer press conferences than his predecessors, even fewer than former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon. He often declines to answer questions from the press and typically chooses pre-selected reporters to engage with.

Amid growing concerns about Biden’s ability to run for another term, some Democrats have encouraged him to engage more with the public to address worries about his mental fitness.

In “Original Sin,” written by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Axios’s Alex Thompson, it’s noted that aides have assisted Biden with mobility issues related to his health decline. Although they initially attributed his condition to a foot fracture from November 2020, his doctor has indicated that the fracture healed completely.

After a troubling performance in a June debate, the media suggested that Biden’s erratic behavior was due to a cold.

As the 2024 election approaches, some, including Lara Trump, have raised concerns about Biden’s “cognitive decline.” Thompson criticized the media for allegedly covering up Biden’s health issues during a recent White House event.
