Trump Discusses Trade in Recent Interview
During an interview on Fox News Channel’s Special Report, President Donald Trump expressed that he wouldn’t engage in trade with every country, citing his inability to connect with so many different leaders. He remarked, “If I hadn’t done that with China, I think China would have fallen apart.”
In the conversation, which included insights about India-Korea relations and a potential deal with India, Trump emphasized his approach to trade: “I’m not going to trade with people. I’m going to set limits. I’m going to make another transaction, but I— I can’t do that.”
Host Brett Baier noted the positive market response regarding the situation in China. Trump replied, “They were. And what do you know? If I didn’t do that deal with China, I think China would have broken.”
Baier clarified, “Not us, they?”
To which Trump asserted, “We didn’t break. We wouldn’t break. They would’ve been broken.”
