A second individual has been apprehended in connection with arson incidents involving two facilities in London, one of which is associated with Keir Starmer.
The 26-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday at 1:45 PM at London Luton Airport, under suspicion of conspiracy to commit arson, putting lives at risk, according to metropolitan police.
This arrest was conducted by counterterrorism officers part of the special operations unit in the Eastern Region, and the suspect has been brought into police custody in London.
The investigation into three separate incidents is being led by officers from the Metropolitan Police’s anti-terrorism headquarters.
One incident involved a fire at the family home of the Prime Minister in northwest London. Firefighters alerted the police about the blaze early Monday. Police reported that while there was damage at the property entrance, no injuries occurred.
The vehicle that Starmer had sold to a neighbor last year was found on the same street four days prior to this incident.
On May 11, firefighters attended to a small fire at the front door of a house believed to have been lived in during the 1990s before it was converted into flats. Firefighters helped one individual with breathing equipment during this incident.
Anyone with information to assist in the investigation is encouraged to contact the MET.
Previously, a 21-year-old named Roman Lovelinovich has been charged with three counts of arson and appeared in court on Friday, also under suspicion of endangering lives.
The Ukrainian national was detained after a court appearance at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, where he did not enter a plea regarding the charges.
Lovelinovich is scheduled to appear at the Old Bailey for a plea and trial preparation hearing on June 6.
