Democratic strategist James Kerrville has taken aim at Pete Buttigieg following remarks made by the former transportation secretary, who questioned whether former President Biden should seek reelection.
This week, when a reporter inquired if Söden might be in a stronger position by not running for a second term, he responded, “I think you probably benefit from hindsight and would agree that most people are.”
Kerrville expressed his concerns about Buttigieg’s comments during a recent episode of his Political War Room podcast with co-host AL Hunt.
“It’s interesting how everyone who stayed silent, now Pete Buttigieg claims that it would have been better if he wasn’t running for reelection. But now, looking back, it seems like everyone thinks, well, we should have known,” Kerrville pointed out.
Biden had announced his intention to run for reelection until July 2024 but later withdrew and stated that former Vice President Harris would take over the Democratic ticket. This choice followed a challenging performance in debates with former President Trump.
Many Democrats, including Buttigieg, supported Biden’s candidacy despite concerns surrounding the former president’s mental health.
Kerrville’s remarks also suggested that recently surfaced audio showed Biden struggling to answer questions and recall details during a 2013 interview with special advisor Robert Haar concerning classified documents discovered at his residence.
