Edan Alexander Released from Captivity
Edan Alexander, the last American hostage in Gaza, has been freed and expressed immense gratitude to former President Donald Trump, stating, “You saved my life.”
A video recently posted by the White House showed a heartfelt phone conversation between Alexander and Trump. During the call, Alexander conveyed his deep appreciation.
“President,” he said as the call began. “You’re the only reason I’m here. You saved my life.”
In response, Trump remarked, “I’m so nervous about you, Edan, you’re a much bigger celebrity than me.” He went on to praise Alexander, telling him, “You’re American, we love you. We’ll take care of you, and your parents are incredible. I saw your mom. She was pushing me a little. She puts a lot of pressure on me.”
“Like a good mom!” Alexander’s mother interjected from the background.
This exchange occurred as Alexander recuperated at Tel Aviv’s Sawaraski Medical Center, just days after his 586-day ordeal in captivity. He had been taken hostage on October 7, 2023, while serving with the Israeli Defense Forces when Hamas attacked.
The Alexander family, along with representatives from the negotiation team and the Israeli Defense Forces, expressed their relief, calling the outcome a “miracle rooted in strength, diplomacy, and prayer.”
