Donald Trump Jr., son of former President Donald Trump, raised eyebrows on Monday by insinuating that Joe Biden’s recent prostate cancer diagnosis might be yet “another cover-up.” This comment came shortly after Biden’s office announced that he had been diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer.
Trump Jr. took to X to voice his concerns about Jill Biden, questioning how she could have overlooked such an advanced stage of cancer. His post included, “What I want to know is if Dr. Jill Biden missed Stage 5 metastatic cancer or was it another cover-up?”
The 82-year-old Biden has been diagnosed with fifth-stage metastatic prostate cancer. Trump Jr.’s remarks followed comments from Dr. Stephen Kee, CEO of Atossa Genetics, who suggested that prostate cancer is typically straightforward to detect early on. He pointed out that PSA blood tests could show the growth rate of cancer cells and mentioned that even aggressive forms of this cancer usually take five to seven years to reach a metastatic state without treatment. Kee implied that if Biden was diagnosed in May 2025, it likely means he had an earlier diagnosis during his White House tenure.
It’s also worth noting that while Jill Biden earned a Doctor of Education degree in 2007, she is not a medical doctor; she uses the title as part of her academic background. Her dissertation focused on student retention at community colleges.
Biden’s office confirmed that his hormone-sensitive prostate cancer had already metastasized to the bone, following symptoms related to urinary issues and prostate nodules. This diagnosis is considered one of the most significant health challenges Biden has faced, following his near-fatal cerebral aneurysm in 1988. The former president’s son, Beau Biden, also lost his battle with cancer in 2015.
Despite Trump Jr.’s criticisms, Donald Trump publicly sent his best wishes to the Biden family upon hearing the news of Biden’s diagnosis. He stated, “Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We will spread the warmest and best wishes to Jill and his family. Joe wishes a quick and successful recovery.”
Recent revelations from a book titled *Original Sin* by Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson suggested that Biden’s aides had been aware of his declining health and contemplated the possibility that he might need a wheelchair if re-elected in 2024. The authors indicated that Biden’s close circle, including Jill Biden, worked to keep his health issues from the public eye.
Trump and his supporters have consistently questioned Biden’s fitness for the presidency. After Biden withdrew from the 2024 presidential race in June, Trump even alleged that Biden had faked a COVID-19 diagnosis to avoid criticism for his campaign missteps. He stated, “Biden didn’t have COVID. He’s a threat to democracy.” Additionally, Biden has faced scrutiny over concerns about his cognitive health.
