India’s Reply to the Protest in Portugal: “Operation Sindoor Still Ongoing”

Indian Embassy Responds to Protests in Portugal

In Lisbon, the Indian Embassy has addressed a protest organized by Pakistani people outside their premises, referring to it as a “desperate provocation.” The embassy communicated that it is responding decisively with “Operation Sindore.”

The embassy’s post on X expressed gratitude to the Portuguese government and its police for ensuring security during the protest. They noted that “Operation Sindore” is a firm response to the demonstrations held near the prime minister’s building.

A tweet from the Indian Embassy stated, “We responded firmly to the coronavirus protest organized by Pakistan near our Chancery Building with Operation Sindoor. We would like to thank the Portuguese government.”

A photo shared depicted an Indian official on the embassy balcony, accompanied by a banner reading, “Operation Sindoor is not finished yet.”

Labeling the protest as “ward disease,” the embassy asserted that such challenges would not intimidate India and that their resolve remained unshaken. Puneet Roy Kundal, India’s ambassador to Portugal, highlighted on X that the protest conveyed a strong message emphasizing that “Operation Sindoor is not over yet.”

Tensions Between India and Pakistan

The backdrop to this situation involves military operations; on May 7, India initiated Operation Sindoah, targeting nine terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan-administered Kashmir in response to terrorist activities that resulted in civilian casualties on April 22.

India has emphasized that its response is focused and measured, though tensions escalated after Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks on Indian territory. After a series of confrontations, both nations reached a ceasefire agreement through communication between their military directors.
