Trump wonders why Biden’s cancer diagnosis wasn’t made earlier

On Monday, former President Trump raised concerns about why former President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis had not been disclosed sooner.

“It’s actually quite sad. I’m really surprised the public wasn’t informed about it earlier,” Trump remarked regarding Biden’s diagnosis, which was made public on Sunday.

Trump noted that prostate screening is a common part of men’s medical exams. He mentioned that tests like measuring prostate-specific antigens (PSAs) in the blood, along with rectal exams, are often used to identify prostate cancer. It’s worth mentioning that these screenings are generally not recommended for men over 70.

“I think it was the same doctor who claimed Joe was cognitively fine. He had no problems… It is really a disappointing situation,” Trump stated.

He expressed admiration for the medical team at the White House as well as the doctors at Walter Reed.

“You have to wonder why it took so long to find this out. Delays can lead to serious risks over time,” Trump continued. “It’s a very sad situation, and I genuinely feel for him. People should understand what really happened.”

A spokesperson for Biden confirmed on Sunday that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer on Friday after experiencing worsened urinary symptoms, noting that the cancer had spread to the bone.

As the news of his diagnosis circulated, both supporters and opponents of Biden shared their well-wishes and respect on social media.

“Cancer impacts all of us. Like many of you, Jill and I have realized that we are strongest in the moments of weakness,” Biden posted on X on Monday morning.

The 82-year-old former president has recently been under scrutiny due to discussions about his mental sharpness during his presidency and his decision to seek reelection last July.
