Rick Burgess Launches New Podcast
Rick Burgess has introduced a new podcast titled “Strange Encounters.” The goal of this show is to shed light on the nature of spiritual warfare and provide listeners with the necessary tools to navigate a world inhabited by both angels and demons.
In the latest episode, Rick visits with Blake Prime. Blake shares a heartfelt and remarkable experience where his daughter was saved from dire circumstances through the power of Jesus’ name.
After a family tragedy, Blake’s nine-year-old daughter, Lane, began to suffer from severe anxiety attacks. The situation escalated when her sister was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, which intensified Lane’s fears.
“I started to notice something dark was influencing her thoughts on anxiety,” Blake recounted. Lane expressed that it felt as if the anxiety wasn’t her own, saying, “It’s like it’s not me.”
Blake’s belief that there was a spiritual aspect to her struggles was further confirmed when Lane remarked, “When I’m at school or on the playground, I see all my friends in the light, but I’m stuck in the dark.”
One day, while driving her to school, Lane experienced an intense panic attack.
Blake remembers, “We were in the truck going to school, and she was just hysterical. Suddenly, she put one hand on the console and the other on the door. It was clear; that wasn’t my little girl.”
In that moment, he started reciting Bible verses. “I kept saying Joshua 1:9 over and over, just trying to bring some light,” he mentioned, humorously adding, “I jokingly said, ‘I’m not Satan today.'”
Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to help, as Lane cried out, “God doesn’t love me.”
Blake responded, “I command any evil spirit to leave this car. She’s not yours; she belongs to the King. Jesus controls this situation, you have no authority here.” In a dramatic turn, Lane sat up and asked, “Are we going to school?”
In that instant, everything changed. Lane’s breathing normalized, the tears ceased, and she began talking as if she was at ease.
Although she still faces anxiety, Blake firmly believes that the name of Jesus serves as a protective shield.
“It’s not that the anxiety vanished; I’ve just learned how to confront it better now,” Blake reflects.
