Jennifer Lopez faced an awkward moment when her outfit malfunctioned at a benefit concert for composer John Kander’s 98th birthday on Monday in New York City.
The 55-year-old star turned heads in a plunging peach gown adorned with feathered sleeves.
Unfortunately, the dress shifted to the side, leading to a nip slip just as the cameras were capturing her arrival outside the venue.
Despite the unfortunate wardrobe issue, the “Hustlers” actress walked into the event confidently.
Later that evening, Lopez changed into an elegant white high-neck dress with a long train, accessorized with sparkling jewelry and a chic silver clutch.
The concert celebrated Kander, hosted by Alan Cumming, who has written iconic scores for musicals that have inspired films featuring Lopez, such as “Cabaret,” “Chicago,” and “Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
Earlier this year, she attended the Sundance Film Festival, where she premiered “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” directed by Bill Condon.
This film revolves around a political prisoner in the Argentine civil war, portrayed by actor Diego Luna, whose cellmate—played by newcomer Tonatiu Elizararaz—has a crush on classic screen actress Ingrid Luna (Lopez).
Lopez received a standing ovation during the film’s screening at the Eccles Theatre in Park City.
“I was waiting for this moment,” she told the audience. “I wanted to join this business because my mother sat me in front of the TV. [‘West Side Story’] would come on once a year, and I was captivated, thinking, ‘That’s what I want to do.’”
In the past, Lopez collaborated on musical projects with her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, whom she separated from in April 2024, just before filing for divorce after two years of marriage.
The divorce was finalized in January 2025 after they negotiated the terms regarding their shared property valued at $61 million in Beverly Hills.
Lopez later discussed the divorce in an interview, expressing that she was “not excited” and felt alone in the process. She added, “I know I’m a good person. I know I’m a good mom. My friends know who I am.” She acknowledged that navigating the industry can be challenging, as some people love you while others do not understand you.
Despite their individual journeys, Lopez and Affleck remain close for the sake of their five children.
