Debate Over Biden’s Health on CNN
On Monday’s segment of CNN’s “Newsnight,” Scott Jennings, a CNN contributor, engaged in a discussion with Democratic strategist Julie Loginsky regarding the recent concerns about former President Joe Biden’s health.
Loginsky suggested that the narrative should be centered around President Donald Trump rather than Biden.
In response, Jennings pointed out that Biden’s health is a significant topic currently in the news, and he noted that Democrats’ reaction tends to be focused on Trump.
Partial transcripts as follows:
Jennings: Does Joe Biden assert that everything is okay with him?
Loginsky: I’m not saying he’s perfectly fine. What I mean is –
Jennings: You’re repeatedly bringing up Trump.
Loginsky: Excuse me. Please let me ask you – can you answer me.
Jennings: I’m inquiring about Biden claiming there’s a problem.
(Crosstalk)
Loginsky: I’m really pleased you brought that up because Joe Biden isn’t president anymore. Donald –
Jennings: But he used to be.
(Crosstalk)
Loginsky: So, no, actually.
(Crosstalk)
Jennings: That’s the main story tonight. It encompasses them all.
Loginsky: Donald – Wait, stop. Just stop.
(Crosstalk)
Loginsky: Let me finish. Donald Trump is the current president. Having lived in the New York media market for four decades, I’d really like to scrutinize his cognitive tests because I can say that the Donald Trump I knew in the ’80s is not the same person I hear about today.
Jennings: So your conclusion regarding the cover-up relates to Trump.
Loginsky: My point is –
Jennings: It seems every answer you have goes back to Trump.
Loginsky: That’s not it. My point is –
Jennings: The cover-up is tonight’s focus.
Loginsky: Yes. The cover-up does not concern the current U.S. president, but rather Donald J. Trump, who is here and now. You can laugh all you want.
Jennings: I’m definitely chuckling. We’re laughing.
Philip: It’s alright.
Loginsky: Do you know why you’re laughing? Because it’s not – no, no.
Philip: We’re going –
Loginsky: No, no, we’re not laughing. You don’t seem to want to respond to the question, Scott. Your President –
Jennings: Yes. What is the question again?
Philip: Julie, I think I’ll stop here.
Loginsky: I want to see his cognitive test. I want access to that.
Jennings: I’m sure he’ll come out alright.
