Rollins Discusses Cabinet Meetings and American Vision
In a conversation with Matthew Boyle from Breitbart News during recent cabinet meetings, Agriculture Secretary Brook Rollins shared insights about her role and experiences. This discussion was part of a live streaming policy event hosted by Breitbart News in collaboration with CGCN and the Alfa Institute, marking another instance of communication between cabinet officials and the media.
As the dialogue wrapped up, Boyle inquired about Rollins’s thoughts on attending cabinet meetings. She expressed her excitement, stating, “There’s so much to be happy to be able to do this job and attend a cabinet meeting. I think we’ll have five in a few months.” Rollins mentioned that she is the only cabinet member who is also part of the president’s senior staff in the current administration.
Reflecting on the challenges faced in recent years, she noted, “I’ve lived it in pretty dark days during the last four years since the administration, and a lot of pause, and during the pause to this day.” She indicated that the weight of responsibility feels significant, almost as if the world’s burdens were resting on their shoulders.
Rollins conveyed her belief that the administration’s goals for restoring American greatness would extend far beyond President Trump’s term, envisioning a vision lasting generations. “That’s not just the next four years. That’s the next 250 years. How would you like to go back to your 250th birthday and make America look 250 years from now?” she elaborated.
She also spoke about her connections with other cabinet members, describing friendships formed over time and recognizing the immense responsibility they share in their roles. “You feel the weight of the moment, you also feel fulfilled to know what you’re doing and knowing that you have a team next to you to do it,” she remarked while mentioning friends like Scott Turner and Linda McMahon among others.
Rollins noted that although the media often attended and filmed cabinet meetings, the most telling moments often occurred once the press departed. She shared a memorable quote from President Trump: “You know, I’m always trying to understand who’s doing the best job.” This sentiment captures a competitive spirit inherent in his leadership style. “But my goodness… after all of you talk about what you’re doing and how you’re changing your agency and implementing America’s first vision, I’m so proud of everyone,” he added.
She concluded with a sense of optimism, expressing that there’s a palpable sense of unity and energy among cabinet members. “You can just feel its unanimity. You can feel it dynamic – all hands-on deck work, all gas, no brakes… you feel it can help save the country when it desperately needs it,” Rollins said.
