Cuomo’s Campaign Ad Takes Aim at Trump Amid Investigation
Andrew Cuomo, the former New York mayor, quickly launched a campaign advertisement linking himself to President Trump after news of a Justice Department investigation emerged.
The ad, which came out on Wednesday, highlights a list of Trump’s political rivals who are currently dealing with potential federal legal issues.
One bold statement from the ad proclaims, “If Donald Trump doesn’t want Andrew Cuomo to be mayor, you will.”
In addition, the ad references New York’s attorney general, Letitia James, who played a pivotal role in investigating allegations of sexual harassment against Cuomo, ultimately leading to his resignation in 2021.
Recently, the DOJ has opened an investigation into Cuomo for allegedly misleading Congress about the death toll in New York nursing homes during the early stages of the pandemic. The report about this investigation was first shared on Tuesday night.
