Affluent foreigners can apply for Trump’s $5 million ‘gold card’ visa in just a week, according to Lutnick.

New Visa Program To Allow Wealthy Foreigners Permanent Residency

Foreign nationals with $5 million can soon apply for a new “Gold Card” visa, which grants them the right to live and work indefinitely in the United States, according to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

During an event in Washington, DC, Lutnick mentioned, “I think we’ll launch a website called ‘Trump Card Dot Gov’ in about a week.” He assured that more details would emerge soon, allowing prospective applicants to begin signing up.

He added that the full specifics of the visa program are expected to be released in the upcoming weeks.

Lutnick indicated that this card would effectively replace the existing EB-5 Investor Visa program, which requires immigrants to invest $900,000 in economically struggling areas in the U.S. to obtain green cards.

On a recent trip to the Middle East, Lutnick claimed to have generated significant interest in the new program, stating that he had already “sold” some of the cards.

“Honestly, I believe anyone who knows a non-American would want to purchase this card if they have the financial means,” Lutnick said.

The “Gold Card” visa program first emerged as a proposal from President Donald Trump back in February.

According to Lutnick, “We’re looking to set the price at about $5 million, which grants the privileges of a green card and also paves the way for citizenship. Wealthy individuals will be drawn to our country through this card.”

However, experts in immigration law have cautioned that any new visa initiative would need Congressional approval.

Lutnick further suggested that the “Gold Card” program could contribute to addressing the U.S. federal debt, which currently exceeds $36 trillion.

“These will be outstanding individuals who will enhance business opportunities in America, paying $5 million each,” Lutnick added. “Imagine if 200,000 people come in— that’s a trillion dollars. It’s all about finance.”
