Knicks’ watch parties shift from MSG to a larger location, say sources

From the garden to the park.

Sources indicate that the lively watch party outside Madison Square Garden, where thousands of enthusiastic fans celebrated a significant victory for the Boston Celtics, is set to relocate to a larger venue as the New York Knicks aim to maintain their playoff momentum.

Persistent fans can come together in Central Park and display their Knicks pride, as the official watch party is moving to Summer Star on Friday, according to the Post.

Attendance is free.

Efforts are being made to enhance this spirited event across New York City as the Knicks prepare for the Eastern Conference Finals against the Indiana Pacers, per sources.

This marks the Knicks’ first appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years.

Word has it that the decision to transfer the game-time gathering came before approximately 30,000 ecstatic fans took to Seventh Avenue on Friday to celebrate the Celtics’ Game 6 win.

Knicks supporters made their presence felt on social media, with some climbing onto a taxi kiosk post-match, while others showcased a fiery display with a Celtics jacket raised high. Recognizable Knicks fan Spike Lee participated in the festivities, poking his head out of a car window, and fellow superfan Timothy Chalamet was spotted amidst leaving fans.

No outdoor watch party is planned for Game 1, which kicks off on MSG Wednesday night.

Instead, Wednesday’s gathering will take place at Radio City Music Hall, with tickets priced at $10, benefiting the Garden of Dreams Foundation.

As the series continues, Game 2 is scheduled for Friday night before heading to Indianapolis for Game 3 on Sunday.
