Trump’s Tax Bill Passes the House
Donald Trump’s tax legislation was approved by the House early Thursday morning, with a close vote of 215-214-1.
This bill encompasses several key items from Trump’s agenda.
Some highlights include extending the tax cuts from 2017, eliminating taxes on tips, increasing funding for defense and border security, and ensuring government healthcare programs are more accountable.
According to reports, the sweeping tax and spending bill has made significant progress, achieving House approval with a narrow margin.
This trillion-dollar package integrates numerous aspects of Trump’s broad agenda and is being pushed during this session.
Key features are the extension of previous tax cuts, the removal of tip taxes, and heightened spending on defense and border security. Trump has referred to this proposal as “a big and beautiful bill,” and it is officially termed as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”
Now, it’s off to the Senate.
In the Senate, legislation can be considered based on specific rules, allowing for passage with just a simple majority, rather than the usual 60 votes.
A House member mentioned that the president is ready to sign once the Senate completes its process.
