Daniel Collins Addresses Cameraman Incident at Strasbourg
It seems like doing your job these days comes with some unexpected challenges. Take the situation with tennis player Danielle Collins, for example. She’s known for being quite candid about her feelings, and let’s be honest—there’s rarely a dull moment when she’s around.
Recently, Collins had a victory in Strasbourg against Emma Raducanu. However, things took a bit of a turn when a certain incident involving a cameraman caught everyone’s attention. As Collins sat on the bench, the photographer ventured a bit too close for comfort, and Collins, while grabbing water, voiced her discomfort, referring to the situation as “very inappropriate.” It’s understandable, given the surroundings.
That said, the photographer was just doing his job, capturing the moments as they unfold. There’s definitely a part of me that thinks, well, this is what photographers do at these events, right?
For those curious about the moment, there’s a video available to watch.
“It’s really important to be good at self-expression. There aren’t many successful people in a world where you can’t feel like you’re not going to be yourself.”
Collins shared this motivational thought following her win over Raducanu.
To be honest, I don’t have anything against Collins. Still, I think maybe she was being a touch sensitive. Can you name a major tennis tournament where photographers aren’t everywhere? It kind of comes with the territory.
I mean, there’s a point of sensitivity, but let’s not forget that there’s also a job to do.
