A woman was caught in a rather unsettling situation recently.
According to police, a woman dressed stylishly in a leather jacket and heels used scissors to attack an amateur photographer who inadvertently snapped her picture while he was taking photos in the West Village.
This incident unfolded on Barrik Street near West Houston Street at about 4:20 PM on May 5th, as the 36-year-old photographer was busy capturing images for social media.
Witnesses reported that the woman, who has brown hair and was wearing sunglasses and a dress, appeared to react explosively, like someone caught off guard by intrusive paparazzi.
Initially, she shoved the photographer before brandishing scissors and stabbing him in the back, as per police reports.
After the attack, she fled south on Barrik Street toward a metro station on Houston Street.
Despite sustaining minor injuries, the victim opted not to seek medical attention at the scene.
On Wednesday night, the NYPD released surveillance images and video footage of the suspect. She was seen in a black dress, leather jacket, and heels. At one point, she wore sunglasses, though she seemingly removed them as she made her escape underground.
