Louisiana police apprehend third suspected accomplice Connie Weeden in Orleans Parish escape.

A third suspect has been arrested related to the escape of one of ten inmates from the Orleans Parish Correctional Facility, according to Louisiana State Police.

Connie Weeden, 59, is accused of assisting the fugitive and was apprehended after investigations indicated she had been in contact with Jermaine Donald, the escapee, both before and after his breakout.

Donald is still at large.

Authorities allege that Weeden transferred money to Donald using a mobile app.

She has been charged as an accessory after the fact and is now held at St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center.

“Under Louisiana law, those found guilty of being accessories after the fact could face a fine of up to $500 for five years or both, along with potential hard labor,” stated the Louisiana State Police. “Various law enforcement agencies, including local, state, and federal, will keep following all leads until the remaining inmates are captured. Anyone aiding or hiding these fugitives will face legal consequences.”

This marks the first time Weeden has been implicated as a supporter since the escape.

Previously, Cortnie Harris and Corvanntay Baptiste were detained for allegedly aiding and transporting other escapees.

The following fugitives are still at large:

  • Corey E. Boyd, 19, facing charges for second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, illegal weapon transport, and obstructing justice.
  • Renton J. Vanbren Jr., 26, is dealing with charges for illegal firearm possession, obstructing justice, and bringing contraband into a prison.
  • Jermaine Donald, 42, is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated battery, and firearm possession as a felon.

  • Derrick Groves, 27, is charged with multiple counts of attempted second-degree murder and battery against correctional staff.
