Trump Hosts Dinner for Investors in His Meme Coin Project
Donald Trump organized a dinner event last night for top investors in his $Trump Meme Coin Project, asserting that “the Biden administration has persecuted crypto innovators and is back in America where they belong.”
Held at Trump National Golf Club in Potomac Falls, Virginia, the gathering welcomed around 220 significant buyers of the Trump meme coin, with the top 25 receiving access to an “Ultra-exclusive Private VIP Reception with the President.”
According to the Wall Street Journal, citing blockchain analytics from Inca Digital, roughly $148 million was invested in the $Trump coin, earning many a coveted spot at the dinner.
“The Biden administration has been tough on crypto innovators. But we are bringing them back to America,” Trump told attendees.
The chief of Trump Crypto claims we are in a “golden age” of digital assets, working to dismantle the barriers set by Biden.
Outside the venue, protesters showed up, holding signs denouncing corruption, voicing sentiments like “stop the corruption of the code” and “not stop the corrupt fools.”
“Past administrations have made your life miserable,” Trump reportedly remarked, and he also referenced President Biden’s proposed regulations regarding cryptocurrency.
Trump commented on the various meanings within cryptography, expressing, “There’s a lot of common sense in cryptography. We’re honored to be helping all of you here.” Attendees noted that he spoke for about 30 minutes and even danced to “YMCA.” It was interesting, as the White House stated that Trump would attend the event “in a personal capacity.”
