Dems Frequently Overlook What Matters to Voters

Chicago Mayor Critiques Democrats on Newsmax

During a recent appearance on Newsmax TV’s “Carl Higbie Frontline,” Chicago Mayor Raymond Lopez expressed concerns about the current direction of the Democratic Party. He described it as a shift away from being an empathetic party to one that, in his view, dictates what should matter to voters. Lopez mentioned that Democrats are often using distractions to avoid addressing pressing urban issues, particularly pointing to remarks about President Donald Trump by fellow Democrats like Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson.

Lopez noted, “He supported Democrats among some Chicago city politicians. Now it seems like it’s distracting from the real issues facing our neighborhoods. It appears to be easier for Democrats like Brandon Johnson to paint Trump as a villain rather than confront the actual challenges in the city.” He reminisced about a time when the Democratic Party was more aligned with working-class values, emphasizing empathy and support for those in need.

He questioned, “Where has that party gone? That’s the party I belong to, one that really cared about people. Nowadays, it feels like Democrats are more focused on telling you what’s important instead of listening to voters. This approach isn’t sustainable; without acknowledging what truly matters to constituents, they’re bound to face continual electoral losses.”
