Harvard Law Professor’s Controversial Statements on Campus Anti-Semitism
During a segment of Newsnation’s “Cuomo” broadcast on Friday, Alan Dershowitz, a Harvard Law professor, suggested that Harvard University and other institutions would hold two Israeli embassy staffers responsible for their deaths on Wednesday.
Dershowitz claimed, “These two children killed in Washington, DC, have blood on their hands. They have not only tolerated the kind of instigation and anti-Semitism that leads to violence but have actually integrated anti-Semitism into their teaching. This racial issues curriculum, which includes DEI, acts as a breeding ground for anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism, and the kind of violence we’re witnessing.”
He also referenced the history of the Vietnam War, noting that escalating protests during that time eventually turned deadly, cautioning that current campus protests could similarly lead to violence. Furthermore, he pointed to Harvard’s School of Public Health and Theology as spaces that promote this troubling trend.
Dershowitz suggested that rather than cutting off all foreign students, the Trump administration should take a more strategic approach, specifically targeting Harvard’s funding practices related to international students. He emphasized that financial support for scientific research focused on diseases should remain unaffected.
