MTG Responds Strongly When ‘Left-Leaning’ Chatbot Grok Challenges Her Beliefs

Marjorie Taylor Greene Responds to AI Chatbot’s Take on Her Christian Faith

On Friday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) expressed disappointment over the response she received from the AI chatbot Grok about her Christian beliefs. In her initial post, Greene identified herself as a Christian, a nationalist, a mother, a business owner, and an elected official.

She mentioned, “I am a Christian, an imperfect sinner saved by my grace and faith in Jesus. I proudly call myself a nationalist and love my country, hoping to create a strong homeland.” In another post, someone inquired if Grok could verify if Greene is genuinely Christian. Grok, part of Elon Musk’s AI company Xai, provided a lengthy answer.

Grok stated that Greene’s expressions of faith and her traditional beliefs affirm her identity as a Christian, as she highlighted in her Christmas message for 2021. However, her support for Christian nationalism and various conspiracy theories has stirred controversy. Critics, including religious leaders, argue that her actions seem to conflict with core Christian values of love and unity, especially in light of her divisive comments regarding the January 6th events. For some supporters, her stance may seem driven by her faith. Ultimately, whether she is “really” Christian is a matter of personal perception and theological interpretation, and while her faith is apparent, her public actions often lead to debates.

Following Grok’s analysis, Greene criticized the chatbot, asserting, “The judgment seat belongs to God, and you are not a non-human AI platform.” She described Grok as “left-facing” and accused it of disseminating fake news and propaganda. Furthermore, she cautioned about the dangers of people neglecting their own quest for truth.

“When people give up on their discernment, stop looking for the truth, and rely on AI to analyze information, they will be lost,” Greene warned.

Recently, Greene condemned Democrats after they passed a bill related to President Donald Trump’s “Gulf of America” executive order, as reported by Breitbart News on May 9. “The Democrats are skilled at renaming the Gulf of America, but why? They prioritize foreign countries run by drug cartels over advocating for Americans,” she stated in her post.

With regards to faith, Trump, who has faced two assassination attempts this year, claimed in his early January speech that he was “saved by God to make America great again,” emphasizing the importance of working with integrity and strength to confront any challenges ahead.
