Owaisi in Bahrain with All-Party Delegation
Asaduddin Owaisi, a member of the All India Majlis-e-ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), is participating in an all-party delegation led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda. During discussions with notable Bahraini figures, he referred to Pakistan as a “failed state.”
Owaisi stated, “Our government has sent us here… The world is aware of the threats India has faced for many years. Sadly, we’ve lost numerous innocent lives at the hands of Pakistan.” He went on to emphasize, “Our government is committed to safeguarding all Indians. This government has made it clear: the next time you (Pakistan) engage in this unfortunate behavior…”
Reflecting on India’s restraint despite provocations, Owaisi mentioned the tragic Pahargam attack, which claimed 26 tourist lives. He poignantly highlighted personal stories, saying, “Think of the human tragedy of this massacre. A woman who married just six days prior became a widow on the seventh. Another, married two months ago, also lost her husband that day.”
Stressing India’s defensive capabilities, he noted, “India has the necessary measures to ensure the safety of all its citizens and residents.” Owaisi pointed out that India’s air defense system successfully neutralized threats from across the border, stating, “Our technology, air defense systems, and military capabilities intercepted everything launched by a failed state like Pakistan.”
He also called for greater international cooperation to combat terrorist financing and requested Bahrain’s support in encouraging a return of Pakistan to the FATF greylist, stressing that such funds facilitate terrorism.
“In our country, despite political differences, there’s a consensus on national integrity. It’s crucial for our neighbors to comprehend this. I hope Bahrain will assist in addressing the situation with Pakistan,” he added.
The delegation includes BJP members Nishikant Dubey and Phangnon Konyak, among others. It aims to clarify India’s response to the Pahargam attack and engage with leaders from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria to address cross-border terrorism.
This multiparty delegation, formed with seven groups led by individual MPs, seeks to counter global misinformation and showcase India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism.
