Diddy trial involves Madonna, Judd Apatow, and Chadwick Boseman

Latest Celebrity Testimonies in Sean Combs Trial

Madonna, director Judd Apatow, and the late Chadwick Boseman are among the celebrities who have been mentioned in the ongoing high-profile trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs in Manhattan.

On Monday, these A-list figures were noted in quick succession during the proceedings. Testimony from MIA, a former associate of Combs, included a claim of sexual assault against the music mogul, which was supported by messages about the case presented to the jury.

After departing from Combs’ Bad Boy Records in 2017, MIA described her role in working with “The Queen of Pop” as encompassing many responsibilities. “I was brought on to lead her film industry. It became multiple roles,” she said during questioning from one of Combs’ attorneys in Manhattan Federal Court.

MIA, who began her association with Combs in 2009, alleged that he attempted to blacklist her within the entertainment industry following her exit from his company, although she claimed Madonna “wasn’t bothered” by it. Regardless, MIA testified that he retaliated by pulling her from a show he produced and removing her credits from a documentary.

Her testimony also revealed that she attempted to contact Combs multiple times after leaving his employ.

On March 8, 2019, she encouraged him to watch the Netflix series “Love,” directed by Apatow.

Additionally, on May 14, 2020, she expressed her sorrow over the passing of Andre Harrell, a record executive. “Puff, my heart is broken about Dre. I spent the whole week crying for you,” she texted.

In August 2020, she reached out again regarding the sudden death of 43-year-old “Black Panther” star Boseman.

In response, Combs asked, “How are you? Yeah, life is crazy,” according to court records.

MIA has been a key witness, alleging years of abuse, including rape, during her testimonies concerning Combs’ assault and sex trafficking accusations.

Combs, now 55, has pleaded not guilty; he could face a life sentence if convicted.

The trial is set to resume on Tuesday, with testimony scheduled from a security guard who was present at a Los Angeles hotel where Combs was filmed allegedly assaulting his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
