Democratic Strategist Criticizes Left and Media on Terrorism Response
On Monday, Democratic strategist Julian Epstein criticized both the left and mainstream media for their failure to confront terrorism, particularly in incidents targeting Jewish communities. He spoke out after CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem faced backlash for her remarks regarding the FBI’s classification of a Colorado firefighting event as terrorism, accusing the bureau of overstepping local authorities. In an appearance on “Editing the Evening,” Epstein condemned the Democrats, calling the situation a wake-up call for the West.
He pointed out a glaring issue: “When terrorists target Jews, including elderly Holocaust survivors, while chanting ‘free Palestine,’ it doesn’t take a detective to figure it out,” Epstein remarked during the interview with Elizabeth MacDonald.
Epstein didn’t hold back in his criticism, labeling the left’s pattern of ignoring or allowing violence when it aligns with their narratives as dangerous.
He claimed, “This is part of the broader issue where the left seems to be enabling extremism, while the media mostly looks the other way. It’s time for a Western awakening.”
The Department of Homeland Security informed the Daily Call News Foundation about Mohamed Sabri Soliman, a 45-year-old foreign national, who allegedly attacked pro-Israel demonstrations using makeshift devices under the current administration.
This incident occurred less than two weeks after two Israeli citizens, Jaron Lisinsky and Sarah Milgrim, were tragically shot and killed outside a Jewish museum in Washington, D.C.
The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated dramatically on October 7, 2023, when terrorist groups launched an unexpected attack on Southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of approximately 1,200 civilians and the abduction of around 250 hostages. In retaliation, the Israeli military commenced a significant campaign in Gaza aimed at dismantling Hamas’ operations.
