Israeli Prime Minister Attributes 'Blood Libels' Against Jews to 'Brutal' Boulder Assault

Netanyahu Condemns Boulder Attack as Terrorism

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke out against a fire attack in Boulder, Colorado, labeling it a “malicious terrorist attack.” He expressed concerns about the rising global anti-Semitism, suggesting it fuels hostility toward Israel and its people.

On Monday, Netanyahu shared his thoughts on social media, responding to the attack that resulted in injuries and burns to several individuals participating in a peaceful march to support Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

“My wife, me, and all of Israel are praying for a swift recovery of those harmed in this cruel act in Boulder,” he stated, emphasizing that the assault targeted individuals simply wanting to show solidarity with those held captive by Hamas because they are Jewish.

He expressed his confidence in U.S. law enforcement, urging them to take strong actions against the perpetrators. “I trust that American authorities will ensure the assailants are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and will do everything within their power to prevent future attacks on innocent people,” he remarked.

Netanyahu attributed the increase in anti-Semitic incidents globally to “bloody defamation against the Jewish state and its people,” urging that this cycle must come to an end.

This comment arose amidst critiques that mainstream media and some activist groups may be fostering a hostile atmosphere toward Jews through misinformation and a negative portrayal of Israel.

Former President Donald Trump also responded to the weekend’s events with a statement condemning the attack and linking it to what he perceives as consequences of the Biden administration’s “open border” policies. He labeled the incident “terrorism” and advocated for the immediate deportation of “illegal and anti-American extremists.”

The violent event in Boulder has left multiple people injured and is under investigation by local and federal law enforcement, including the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI. Authorities confirmed that suspect Mohamed Sabri Soliman is a foreign national lacking proper legal status.

Soliman has been accused of throwing Molotov cocktails during the pro-Israel event. Eyewitness reports and video footage allegedly captured him and others yelling phrases such as “end Zionists” and “Palestine is free.”

A spokesperson for the White House noted on Monday that the suspect had been allowed into the country under the previous administration’s policy. They confirmed that individuals in similar situations would face deportation, stressing their intention to not tolerate violence in the U.S.

As for the incident, it was recorded by two staff members of the Israeli embassy, Yaron Lisinsky and his fiancée, Sarah Milgrim, who were reportedly attacked less than two weeks later by gunmen advocating for a “free Palestine” during a pro-Israel event in Washington, DC.

Lisinsky’s last post on social media, made just hours before his death, appeared prescient. He had shared warnings concerning the dangers posed by international organizations spreading propaganda alongside Hamas, asserting the need for accountability regarding misinformation.

Federal agents are currently treating the Boulder attack as a deliberate act of terrorism linked to anti-Semitic extremism.
