Pablo Torre responds to Bill Simmons in the Bill Belichick-Jordon Hudson situation

Pablo Torre recently addressed comments made by Bill Simmons, who made his opinions about Torre’s work quite explicit.

Simmons criticized Torre for “pretending” to be a journalist, especially in light of Torre’s reporting on the relationship between Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson.

In a tweet, Torre responded directly to Simmons, saying, “Dear @billsimmons: You seem to have a strong public opinion about my work. I simply asked you a few questions about it.” He added a note of gratitude towards Pablo, pointing out concerns about someone “pretending to be a journalist.”

This tension stems from Torre’s recent analysis of a controversial relationship involving the 73-year-old North Carolina soccer coach and his 24-year-old girlfriend.

Torre has been discussing this on his podcast, “Pablo Torre Finds Out.” Reports say the Tar Heels were allegedly banned by Hudson from their facility, although the program later denied this. Hudson herself appears in casual settings, like wearing a bikini in a commercial.

Interestingly, Torre had rented an Airbnb that Belichick and Hudson had occupied, which led to speculation when footage of a shirtless Belichick emerged in 2023. Torre reportedly spoke to the Airbnb owner about the incident.

Simmons, a big supporter of Belichick’s Patriots, mentioned that he believes Torre focused a fair amount on the topic during his recent review of the film “Heaven Can Wait.”

He remarked, “Pablo Torre has conducted a long podcast about a character named Leo Farnsworth, among other discussions.” He also expressed disbelief at the amount of attention given to Torre’s reporting, stating, “I’ve never seen anyone obsess over a silly story for weeks, pretending to be a journalist. What’s going on here?”

Simmons found it excessive to cover Belichick dating, saying there’s no need for such a “media tour” about the situation.

Though, he did backtrack slightly when co-host Van Rasan highlighted that the public is indeed interested in the couple since their relationship has been widely discussed following some recent media appearances.

Belichick and Hudson remain a topic of conversation as the Tar Heels prepare for their upcoming game against TCU on September 1st.

In financial news, Belichick’s value has reportedly plummeted from $10 million to just $1 million, offering him potentially more financial flexibility going forward as they reassess his situation.

Torre mentioned that the school set a timeline for handling public records requests, hinting that more revelations about the couple might soon surface. If they fail to meet these requests, he’s open to considering legal options.
