Famous Playwright Likens Democrats to ‘Pedophiles’

Mamet’s Controversial Remarks on Democrats

Playwright David Mamet made headlines on Monday by comparing Democrats to “pedophiles” while discussing his own mental health struggles on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime.

He suggested that Democrats are living in denial, akin to a family refusing to acknowledge that a loved one is involved in such behavior. Notably, Mamet pointed out that among those who self-identify as mentally healthy, conservatives outnumber liberals by 51% to 20%, referencing a polling source from a past election.

“Everything in the Democratic playbook is denial and it requires immense mental energy, just like in a dysfunctional family dynamic where the real issue isn’t the existence of pedophiles but the necessity for the family to ignore that fact,” he explained. “The fear of confronting reality is what keeps them from dealing with it.”

Additionally, it seems that Democrats are grappling with an identity crisis, particularly among male voters, many of whom supported former President Donald Trump. In the 2024 election, the party lost the popularity vote for the first time in two decades, marking a significant shift.

Trump was notably the first Republican candidate to capture the majority of Latino male voters, securing 55% of that demographic according to exit polls by NBC News.

The Democrats’ approval rating has recently plummeted, reaching a new low with only 27% of voters holding a positive view of the party, as highlighted in a recent NBC News opinion survey. This marks the lowest approval rating since 1990 and is the lowest recorded since CNN found a 29% favorable rating for Democrats in the same period.
