‘Straight People Are Unimportant To Me’: Reneé Rapp Describes Her Life In A ‘Lesbian Frat House’ During Candid Interview

Rene Rapp Shares Insights on Life in “Lesbian Flat House”

Broadway star Rene Rapp recently discussed her life in what she calls her “Lesbian Flat House” during an interview with Cosmopolitan published on Monday.

Rapp, recognized for her role in “Mean Girls” on Broadway and her album “Snow Angel,” conversed with friends from the queer community about how social connections shape her identity. She candidly mentioned that straight individuals aren’t part of her close circle.

“I have the toughest group of friends in the world. We spend every weekend together, often crying and supporting one another,” Rapp shared.

She also reflected on her awareness of her identity, saying, “There’s no straight person in me. I looked around and wondered what straight people were doing there.”

Rapp added, “We have this crossing group where we play Rage Cage on Sundays.” She emphasized how her friendships have enriched her life, saying, “It’s made my life so fulfilling and happy. Honestly, I prefer my personal life over my work life, and I’ve never felt that way before.”

The singer passionately defended her lifestyle choices, declaring, “This is actually my dream.”

She described her living situations, noting, “My house and Toi’s house are lesbian flats. I can’t afford new rugs every few weeks, so I make do without one,” she told the magazine.

“I’m truly having fun around people who are funny and beautiful. It makes me realize, ‘Wow, this is the most authentic I’ve ever felt,'” she continued.

Rapp expressed pride in her identity as a lesbian, admitting, “When I came out, I always wanted to talk about it. I was never afraid. I really don’t care; that’s not the issue.”
