Riley Gaines responds strongly to Jemele Hill after a leaked report claims the Olympic women's boxing champion has male chromosomes

Controversy Surrounds Algerian Boxer with Male Chromosomes

The Algerian boxer who recently clinched a gold medal in the Women’s Olympic Competition has been found to have male chromosomes, igniting criticism from various circles, particularly among those on the right.

This revelation prompted former swimmer Riley Gaines to challenge ex-ESPN host Jemele Hill regarding her past remarks in defense of Iman Kerif.

Gaines tweeted, “Hey [Jemele Hill]. We are waiting for your apology.”

Hill had previously believed that an Italian female boxer would prevail in the dispute when she confronted Kerif in the ring. However, she expressed her respect for the International Olympic Committee’s choice to allow Kerif to participate.

“Honestly, I think a lot of people need to apologize. I hope Kerif takes legal action against those who’ve made careless statements,” Hill remarked. In August, she commented, “The whole situation was about revealing, well, hatred and transphobia. Carini admitted her decision to quit stemmed from frustration, but then it spiraled into something entirely different.”

Gaines reminded Hill about the information regarding Kerif’s chromosomes that had surfaced.

In another tweet, Gaines stated, “Hey @Jemelehill. We are still waiting for your apology regarding Carini. She faced a man who was designed to knock her out while everyone was watching, and people like you labeled her cowardly.”

As of now, Hill hasn’t publicly responded to this challenge.

In related news, Gaines and Hill have previously clashed over alleged racist remarks purportedly made by WNBA players against their white counterparts. Gaines criticized the Women’s National Basketball Association for what she sees as a double standard regarding racism, while Hill defended Brittney Griner, asserting that her comments were not racially charged.

Gaines remarked, “Just imagine if Clark had said the opposite.” She pointed out incidents involving Caitlin Clark’s criticisms, while Hill retorted, saying that Clark had explicitly called a call “trash” and “f***ing wack.”

Gaines later offered her perspective in an interview, asserting that while there are numerous things that distress her, Jemele Hill’s professional provocations aren’t among them.

Gaines has gained recognition as a vocal advocate for female athletes facing competition from biologically male participants.
