Seattle Police Investigate Shooting Incident
Seattle Patrol officials responded to reports of gunfire near First Avenue and Union Street last week.
The first incident reportedly took place around 10 PM on May 28th, close to the Four Seasons Hotel on Union Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.
Seattle Police Chief Shon Burns noted that the three were involved in a scuffle, during which one person produced a firearm and shot the others before fleeing the area.
Civilians who were permitted to carry firearms intervened and shot the suspect. It’s been reported that the suspect is a 16-year-old male.
Firefighters indicated that they treated both an 18-year-old and a 17-year-old male, who were subsequently transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Tragically, the 18-year-old was shot and later died, while the 16-year-old suspect, who allegedly shot him, also died after being taken to the hospital.
The civilian who shot the suspect collaborated with the police, and was later interviewed at Seattle Police Headquarters. According to police, this individual has not been arrested.
Authorities are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Seattle Police Department’s violent crime tip line at 206-233-5000.
In a separate conversation, an employee of a local gun range expressed to Blaze News that the situation is troubling, saying, “It sucks” and “It’s wild.” Another anonymous employee shared concerns that recent laws have made it harder for ordinary citizens to protect themselves with firearms. “Honestly, I don’t think it will help,” they remarked.
The collective sentiment among those in the gun community seems to reflect a sense of unease about the prevalent violence, with employees commenting that “Seattle is down the drain.”
