Judge Blocks Deportation of Terror Suspect’s Family
A federal judge in Colorado, appointed by Biden, has intervened to prevent the Trump administration from deporting the family of Mohamed Soliman, who is implicated in a recent terrorist attack in Boulder. The ruling came from Judge Gordon Gallagher of the 10th District, who issued an order that overturned previous deportation plans.
Documents shared by Bill Melugin reveal that immigration authorities had detained Soliman’s wife and five children. This announcement was made by Homeland Security Secretary Krista Noem via social media, stating they were investigating the family’s possible knowledge and support of the attack.
In her comments, Noem noted, “We are looking into how well his family was aware of this horrific incident, and whether they had any involvement or support.” Meanwhile, Soliman, a 45-year-old Egyptian national, is believed to have attacked pro-Israeli protesters with Molotov cocktails during the incident, reportedly shouting phrases like “free Palestine” and “End the Zionists!”
What’s interesting is that while Soliman initially entered the U.S. legally, he is currently considered an illegal immigrant, according to a spokesperson from the Department of Homeland Security. They indicated that the Trump administration’s aim was to send the entire Soliman family back to Egypt, stating they could be deported very soon.
The swift actions by immigration authorities were indeed notable, with plans for quick removal already in the works as public statements suggested possible deportation as early as that night.
