Recent Russian Drone Strike in Ukraine

A Russian drone strike in Ukraine took place shortly after a phone conversation between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This attack has resulted in the deaths of at least five individuals, including a one-year-old child, along with their mother and grandmother.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that six drones had struck the city of Prilky, leading to extensive rescue efforts. Tragically, one first responder involved in the operation lost not only his wife but also his daughter and grandchildren due to the assault.

According to Zelensky, “Last night, Russia attacked Prilky in the Chernihiv region with six attack drones. The rescue operation lasted throughout the night. Unfortunately, there were injuries and fatalities.” He reflected on this incident in a post on social media.

Trump described his discussion with Putin as being positive, but he clarified that it was not aimed at achieving immediate peace. He mentioned that they talked about recent assaults on Russian fighter jets and Russia’s plans to retaliate.

This attack seems to be a response from Moscow, following Ukraine’s earlier drone strikes on Russian positions.

Additionally, a recent one-night strike on Kyiv has resulted in at least nine deaths and left many others injured, including children. Trump remarked on this, mentioning the variety of attacks happening from both sides during their conversation.

Notably, just days earlier, Ukraine had targeted airfields in Serbia and had been involved in an attack that reportedly damaged several Russian planes, as indicated by reports.

Russian Deputy Minister Sergei Riabakov stated that efforts would be made to repair the Russian aircraft affected by these attacks.
