Clinton on Biden’s Judgement and Health

Former President Bill Clinton expressed confidence in President Joe Biden’s judgment and mental clarity during a recent discussion. However, he cautioned about the narratives surrounding Biden and his colleagues, suggesting they should be approached with care.

When asked by co-host Alyssa Farra Griffin about her view on various reports detailing Biden’s supposed decline and speculation about him stepping down from the 2024 election, Clinton emphasized the importance of considering such claims. He remarked, “I think you have to pay attention to them, but all I can say is whenever I was around him, his mind was clear, his judgment was good, and he was on his brief.”

Clinton then shifted the conversation to the dynamics of Biden’s team and the timeline leading up to significant debates, particularly one against Donald Trump that he felt reshaped the direction of the upcoming 2024 election.

He noted there are certainly questions about Biden’s health that lingered during his presidency, remarking, “We should spend more time thinking about the future.” Additionally, Clinton referenced the book “Original Sin,” which discusses Biden’s inner circle’s efforts to shield him from public scrutiny regarding his cognitive and physical health.

In a separate interview, Clinton was also questioned about any doubts he may have had regarding Biden’s capability to lead. He replied, “No. I thought he was a good president,” while acknowledging the challenges of age and lengthy discussions they had about the demands of the presidency as one grows older.

When probed further about cognitive decline, Clinton mentioned he hadn’t encountered any direct evidence and felt Biden was doing well during their last interaction.
