Kimmel Reacts to Musk’s Clash with Trump
Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel expressed his delight over Elon Musk’s recent criticisms aimed at former President Donald Trump following Musk’s departure from a temporary position during the Trump administration. Kimmel, known for his anti-Trump stance, couldn’t resist teasing Musk for his sharp comments regarding Trump’s federal budget proposal.
During his show, Kimmel humorously likened the situation to a showdown between iconic duos like “alien vs. predator” and “Godzilla vs. Kong,” dubbing the confrontation “Trump vs. Mask.” He characterized it as a significant spectacle, adding that it felt like a grand spectacle, or a “big, beautiful browhahaha.”
“It’s a fraudster’s problem,” Kimmel remarked, highlighting that just 72 hours after Musk stepped down from his role—referred to humorously as “Doge Bag in Chief”—he was already engaged in a Twitter spat over Trump’s budget. Kimmel noted Musk’s own words about being “in a battle” regarding parts of the budget proposal, while joking about Musk’s past troubles with White House security over his various escapades.

He recounted Musk’s description of the budget as “unpleasant and hateful,” further adding that Musk promised to “lay off all politicians” who he felt betrayed the American public. Kimmel quipped that Musk seemed to be firing the American people as well as politicians.
Kimmel also brought up past rulings by the US Supreme Court regarding free speech, suggesting that Musk’s feud with Trump could lead to tensions within Congress. He humorously interpreted Musk’s tweets encouraging Americans to contact their senators about the budget, stating that lawmakers should feel nervous about his influence.
However, Kimmel did caution Democrats who might mistakenly think Musk was aligned with their views. He pointed out Musk’s frustration over not being able to influence his friend’s appointment at NASA, along with frustrations about tax credits related to electric vehicles.
Additionally, Kimmel noted Trump’s unusual silence on the matter, contrasting it with his typical outspoken nature, where he’d often make statements in front of the press. “There are no executive orders! No angry posts!” he joked, implying that something serious might be at play.
He finished by tongue-in-cheek suggesting that between Musk and Melania, Trump was facing off against two notable figures who weren’t supportive of him anymore, humorously hinting at the shifting dynamics.
