The ongoing clash between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, has intensified on social media. Amidst this public fallout, ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith weighed in with his thoughts.
Smith took to X, previously known as Twitter, addressing Musk’s question about forming a new political party to better represent a significant portion of the population. “I’m everything to move around America. I’m definitely down for that reason! Sign up!!!” he posted.
He shared his frustration with both political parties, criticizing Democrats for their governance during the last four years, pointing specifically to issues like open borders and spending. However, he didn’t hold back on Trump either, referring to the administration’s approach to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Smith believes there’s no way around considering Trump’s potential presidential run, hinting at some uncertainty about the future.
The feud took a turn when Musk made comments regarding Trump and his past interactions with Jeffrey Epstein. The White House noted that Trump had previously distanced himself from Epstein at his golf club in Palm Beach. While the administration asserted releasing documents related to Epstein, they indicated these claims weren’t groundbreaking.
In response to Musk’s remarks about the Epstein situation, Trump expressed his indifference to Musk’s opposition but noted, perhaps a bit resignedly, that such critiques would have been more useful months ago. He emphasized the significance of a new bill he supports, which he claims could prevent a major tax increase if not passed.
“This is a record-breaking cost, $1.6 trillion, and the biggest tax cut ever,” Trump elaborated. “If this bill doesn’t go through, there’s a 68% tax increase, which can be far worse.” He made it clear he was not the one to create confusion in the political discourse but rather seeks to resolve it for the country’s betterment.
