Halliburton’s Girlfriend Supports Him in NBA Finals Game 1
Tylese Halliburton’s girlfriend made her way to Oklahoma City to cheer on the Pacers guard during Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
Jade Jones was particularly excited when the Pacers rallied from a 15-point deficit in the fourth quarter, eventually clinching the game with a go-ahead jumper from Halliburton just 0.3 seconds before the buzzer.
“Another three!!!!” she exclaimed, sharing the final score graphic of the game.
Jones, a former Iowa cheerleader, sported custom jeans adorned with Halliburton’s name while she and her friends waved yellow rally towels at the Paycom Center, celebrating the moment on her Instagram Story.
Throughout Halliburton’s NBA journey, which began when the Kings selected him in the first round of the 2020 draft, Jones has been a steadfast supporter. They originally became a couple while attending Iowa.
They recently celebrated six years together in April. Additionally, Jones shared a humorous post from Caitlyn Clark, a Fever star, highlighting their close friendship with Clark and her boyfriend, former Pacers assistant Conor McCaffery.
Though Clark, who led the Knicks to an Eastern Conference title, was not present for Game 1 of the Finals, Halliburton had a standout performance, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists, earning him the title of Hero of the Night.
His winning basket marked his fourth go-ahead field goal in the last five seconds of a game during the Pacers’ playoff run. Oklahoma City had been leading comfortably until the fourth quarter.
In a stunning turnaround, the Pacers outscored the Thunder 32-16 in the final 9:30 of the game after trailing 94-79, handing the Thunder their first home loss of the season against an Eastern Conference rival.
With the victory, the Indiana Pacers hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Game 2 is set for Sunday in Oklahoma City at 8 PM.
