Jason Biggs Opens Up About His Struggles with Addiction

Jason Biggs, known for his role in “American Pie,” recently shared insights into his past struggles with addiction, admitting he came “very close to rock bottom.” In a conversation with Ariel Rohl on the “Well” podcast, the actor reflected on challenging times he faced seven years ago.

“I lived in a gray area,” Biggs expressed, describing a situation where his wife would wake up at 4 a.m. to find traces of cocaine while he was still asleep. He revealed that he eventually resolved to quit and disposed of the cocaine he had left.

However, he recounted a moment of weakness: “Within 15 minutes of my last bump wearing off, I’d be thinking, ‘What am I doing?’ and I’d find myself digging through the trash for it.” This feeling of desperation escalated to the point where he would rummage through trash cans on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles late at night.

After initially trying to dispose of the cocaine, Biggs admitted to slipping back into the habit. “I thought, ‘I’ve got to get rid of this,'” and he even went outside to toss it in a trash can. But the urge drew him back in: “I’d go back inside, pop some Ambien to sleep, and then I’d think, ‘What’s one more line?’” he recalled.

Biggs described a chaotic scene where he would drive while grappling with cravings. He mentioned diving into a trash can for some leftover substances, even finding a Starbucks cup among the rubbish, illustrating his desperate state of mind.

Reflecting on those moments, he admitted, “I could have easily just trashed it all, but I didn’t. It felt too final.” This internal conflict showed the obsession he had with drugs. “I was acutely aware of how much medicine I needed based on my intake of cocaine,” he added.

Fortunately, Biggs reported that he is now in a better place, having improved his life by stepping away from drug use.
