Auburn coach addresses James Carville's remarks on Jewish donors.

Auburn men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl expressed strong disapproval of Democratic strategist James Kerrville on Friday over comments Kerrville made about wealthy Jewish donors shifting away from the Democratic Party.

During a recent appearance on Fox News, Pearl and others criticized Kerrville for suggesting that these donors left not due to anti-Semitism, but because they were seeking a tax cut from Republicans. “When wealthy Jews say they don’t pay taxes, they’re just committing to Jewish hatred,” Pearl told host Bill Hemmer on “American Newsroom.” He seemed particularly taken aback by Kerrville’s remarks.

Kerrville, in his “Political War Room” podcast, mentioned how some Jewish donors have switched their support to President Trump for the upcoming 2024 campaign. He also hinted at rising anti-Semitism on university campuses, which he attributes to attitudes among certain Democratic figures.

He noted conversations with wealthy Jewish fundraisers who feel alienated from the Democratic Party, revealing their discontent regarding specific events—though the connection to Colombia raised some eyebrows among listeners.

Pearl further argued that Jewish voters are increasingly distancing themselves from Democrats due to perceived sympathies towards terrorism and anti-Semitism in certain circles. He questioned Kerrville’s comments, labeling them an anti-Semitic tactic and asserting the responsibility of “successful Jews” to contribute fairly, including himself.

In a supportive remark, Pearl acknowledged Trump’s commitments to Israel, stating, “No president has done more to support the Israeli state than Donald Trump.” Fox News Digital has attempted to obtain a response from Kerrville regarding Pearl’s criticisms.
