Police brother order, According to the video, the White House was only offered to Breitbart News ahead of its public release. On Friday, the “big, beautiful bill” was officially approved, specifically aimed at eliminating taxes on overtime pay.
In a video released on Friday, Greg Pemberton, chairman of the DC Police Union, noted that over the last three years, members have put in “more than 2 million hours of overtime just to keep the nation’s capital safe.” Joe Gamaldi, the national vice president of the police brotherhood, emphasized that overtime often means officers are away from their families to help keep their communities secure.
“We work incredibly hard to protect our community and spend significant time away from our families. It’s tough, and we’re doing it for our city,” Gamaldi commented. “It’s important that we don’t pay taxes on those overtime earnings so we can better support our families.”
“We miss out on so much—soccer games, swimming practices, life events—all to safeguard our fellow community members,” he added.
While many Americans may see overtime as a bonus, John Whitt, the second national vice president of the police brotherhood, pointed out that for officers, it’s a necessity.
“To us, overtime isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. If it remains untaxed, it can strengthen the public’s trust in law enforcement, boost support for our officers, and ease the financial pressures many face daily,” Whitt stated.
Rick Snyder, president of Indiana’s Police Brotherhood, echoed that tax-free overtime is vital for supporting “families that depend on that income.”
“The quality of life across our communities directly relates to the services provided by law enforcement,” concluded Patrick Yos, national president of the Police Brotherhood.
“It’s time for law enforcement to show up in suits every day to make a difference, and for the public to rally behind us and recognize our role in safety,” he mentioned.
As reported earlier, other members of law enforcement have also supported the bill that aims to eliminate taxes on overtime pay.
