Bill Maher’s Take on Trump-Musk Feud

Comedian Bill Maher recently stated that the ongoing conflict between President Trump and Elon Musk is the most riveting public breakup since the days of Brangelina.

He likened their dispute to a fantastical showdown, imagining it akin to “Godzilla vs. King Kong”—but with a twist, suggesting King Kong is on ketamine and has a convertible.

The dramatic fallout is particularly surprising given that Trump and Musk were once very close, much like famous couples Brad Pitt with Angelina Jolie or Ben Affleck with Jennifer Lopez.

“They even had a couple’s nickname: e-lump,” Maher quipped.

However, similar to some celebrity partnerships, Maher noted that the end of this relationship has been brewing for a while.

“Honestly, I can’t think about anything else besides the Trump-Elon rift,” he remarked during his HBO’s “Real Time” show.

Maher summarized the duo’s political decline, suggesting it may have started with Trump’s meeting last week with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, where Musk was notably absent.

Maher pointed out that the feud seems to have sparked when Musk turned down Trump’s offer to borrow makeup, which Trump found “interesting.”

“Weird, right? What kind of person needs makeup?” Maher teased.

The tension has escalated between them, with Musk accusing Trump of causing issues related to tariffs, while Trump countered that he wasn’t interested in purchasing a Tesla. Musk argued it was pivotal in Trump winning the election, leading Trump to retort that “S-T has become a reality.”

Maher humorously noted, “And Trump commented, ‘You know what Mars is? A holy planet.’ To which Musk was taken aback.”

Recently, the situation took a darker turn when Musk suggested that Trump’s involvement with the Epstein Files has prevented their release, though he later deleted the related post.

On the other hand, Trump attempted to maintain his composure amidst the chaos.

Maher joked, “The stakes are high; the consequences are reminiscent of Blake’s recent downfall,” referring to the actress’s significant image shift.

The camaraderie between Trump and Musk seems to have dissipated, especially after Musk ramped up his critique of the “big beautiful bill” that Trump supports, hinting at aspirations for a new political agenda that could disrupt the GOP.
