Trump’s Approval Ratings Show Improvement in May
President Donald Trump has seen an increase in his approval ratings this May, marking a notable shift compared to just a month prior.
A survey from the end of April, conducted by InsiderAdvantage and the Trafalgar Group, revealed that Trump held a two-point lead in approval ratings. Out of 1,200 participants, 46% approved of his performance while 44% disapproved, and 10% were undecided. However, these numbers have continued to rise since then.
In Trafalgar’s latest survey conducted at the end of May and into early June, support for Trump surged. Now, 54% of participants either approved or strongly approved of his presidency, while 46% disapproved or strongly disapproved.
Interestingly, there was a slight uptick in approval among Democratic voters, according to another survey of 1,098 individuals. Meanwhile, as of June 2nd, Trump’s ratings stood at 53% in the Rasmussen Approval Tracker. Reports indicated that Trump achieved record highs in net approval, surpassing numbers from his first term.
Commentary from MrCTV host Justine Brooke Murray suggested that rising approval ratings reflect growing public support for Trump’s policy agenda. She noted, “As more Americans reject the obvious bias of the taxpayer-funded media, the calls for accountability may resonate more with the public.”
Moreover, significant actions, including the deportation of gang members and terrorists, could be playing a role in enhancing his approval. Murray concluded that “Americans no longer feel like second-class citizens under a government that previously sidelined them.”
Overall, the data indicates an uptick in support for Trump compared to his past tenure. For instance, a January survey showed that 62% of Americans rated Trump’s inauguration speech as excellent or above average, an increase from 49% in 2017. Similarly, perceptions of him as a strong leader rose to 43% in 2025, compared to just 32% in 2017.
