Chris Conley Retires from NFL to Explore New Opportunities
Chris Conley, a seasoned NFL wide receiver, has decided to step away from football and pursue other interests. The 32-year-old announced his retirement after a decade in the league through a social media post, expressing that he had fulfilled a childhood dream.
Reflecting on his journey, Conley mentioned, “When I was a kid, I wrote down a set of goals, and one of them was to play in the NFL for ten years.” With that milestone reached, he feels it’s time to venture into something different. His last two seasons were spent with the San Francisco 49ers.
He shared, “The last ten years have been a dream. It’s a privilege to have played in the league. I’ve truly given my all, whether it was catching touchdowns or making blocks.” Conley’s agent, Jonathan Pertree, stated that Conley is planning to enroll at the University of Georgia to pursue a career in filmmaking.
In his heartfelt message, Conley conveyed gratitude for his experiences, saying, “God hasn’t made any mistakes, and I’m thankful for the lessons I’ve learned during my career. He’s enough. I’ll see you in my next dream.”
Throughout his career, Conley was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs, where he played for four seasons. He also had stints with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, and Tennessee Titans. Notably, he made a Super Bowl appearance in 2024 against the Chiefs, catching one pass for 18 yards in a tight 25-22 loss.
In total, Conley finishes his NFL journey with 226 receptions, totaling 2,998 yards and 15 touchdowns.
