Jennifer Garner Discusses Botox and Aging
Jennifer Garner has opened up about her experiences regarding cosmetic procedures, particularly Botox, in a recent chat with Harper’s Bazaar. The 53-year-old actress reflected on her attempts at cosmetic surgery, sharing that she ended up feeling dissatisfied with the effects of the injections.
“As far as injections go, I think I’ll just stick to fantasy,” Garner noted. “I don’t use a lot of Botox because it doesn’t quite work for me. So, I tend to wear a lot of bangs.” This approach seems to be her way of balancing the desire for youthful looks while maintaining authenticity. She emphasized the importance of being able to express herself, especially through facial movements, saying, “I like being able to move my forehead; that’s a big part of my face.”
Garner also reflected on her past considerations regarding plastic surgery but mentioned a conversation with a doctor that made her rethink. “I don’t judge anyone for wanting to feel or look their best, but I don’t feel the need just yet,” she admitted. “Sometimes I’ve asked my doctor, ‘Do I need to do this?’ and he kindly said, ‘No.’”
While she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of undergoing surgery in the future, she maintains a healthy outlook on aging. “God knows what things will be like ten years from now. But right now, I’m just enjoying this stage of life,” she shared.
Garner’s skincare philosophy includes a strong belief in the power of sunscreen. “In my 20s, I wasn’t sunbathing, thankfully. I was responsible about wearing sunscreen, and it paid off,” she said, recognizing her luck in that regard.
Interestingly, Garner reflected on her relationship with her appearance over the years. “Being a mother’s daughter has taught me not to focus too much on physical appearance,” she explained. “I don’t spend a lot of time in front of the mirror, though sometimes I think I maybe should.” She joked about how her paparazzi photos could have been improved with a little more time at the mirror, adding, “But honestly, I’m not stressing about aging.” However, she admitted moments of self-awareness when viewing herself on screen: “There are times when I look at the monitor and think, ‘Oh, there’s me!'”
Garner expressed her gratitude for her current age, noting, “I’m thankful to be exactly this age.” She feels a sense of empowerment and wisdom that comes with growing older. “I live in my power and joy, and I really enjoy getting things done.” In a previous interview, she also gave some advice to younger women, cautioning them to be mindful about cosmetic procedures. She suggested, “Try not to look in the mirror too much and really think before injecting anything into your face. Wait as long as you can.” Garner’s thoughts reflect a grounded perspective on beauty and aging that resonates with many.
