ABC News Correspondent Terry Moran has been suspended following a controversial post about Stephen Miller, who serves as Deputy Director under President Trump. Moran’s now-deleted remark described Miller in harsh terms, labeling him “bile” and characterizing him as a “world-class hater.”
In his post, Moran suggested that while Miller may translate the ideas of Trumpism into policy, it’s his capacity for hatred that stands out. He emphasized that Miller garners nourishment from his own animosity, a sentiment he also attributed to Trump.
Karoline Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, swiftly condemned Moran’s comments, referring to them as “ignorant and unacceptable.” She shared a screenshot of his deleted post on social media, expressing concern over how ABC would hold Moran accountable.
In response to the situation, it was highlighted that mainstream media often harbors biases. Miller accused Moran of abandoning journalistic decorum and criticized a broader trend among media professionals. He emphasized that the incident reflects the extreme views held by some within the media landscape.
An ABC News representative stated that the network prioritizes objectivity in its coverage and does not endorse personal attacks. They confirmed that Moran’s actions violated the network’s standards, leading to his suspension while further assessments are made.
Earlier this year, Moran had interviewed Trump and voiced skepticism regarding the President’s decision to deport him. This incident comes after ABC resolved a legal dispute linked to claims made about Trump, which he firmly denies.
